From Wikipedia: Duxton Hill (Chinese: 达士敦山; Pinyin: Dáshìdūnshān) is a small hill, as well as the name of a road, located in Tanjong Pagar within the Outram Planning Area of Singapore. The road leads from Tanjong Pagar Road to the peak of the hill, and is intersected by Duxton Road (达士敦路; Dáshìdūnlù). Duxton Road is a one-way road linking Neil Road to Craig Road.
This is a location where I grew up in. I lived in Everton Park since 1987 when my family moved from a one-room studio apartment to a 3-room government subsidized flat. My dad bought the apartment at SGD 24,000 with his CPF. Recent valuation has put the apartment at about SGD 400K to 500K now. Anyway this location has a special place in my heart because I used to roam around the old shop houses when I was young. Now they are mostly offices, pubs and cafes. Sketching here brought back a lot memories. Anyway the above sketch was done on a Hokusai watercolor sketchbook that a sketcher friend of mine gave me. So I test run it that day. It holds colors well but not too much water. I love it because my fountain pen runs really smoothly on the paper surface.
Here’s another sketch I did.
The tools I used: Hero Fountain Pen, Noodler’s Inks, Watercolor (VG).
