Pharoah Sanders-Birdland Jazz Club

Had the opportunity to see a jazz legend play last week in New York City. The venue was the famous Birldland Jazz Club, and the artist was Pharoah Sanders. Birdland has incredible views as well as amazing acoustics. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. A perfect place to draw in New York.

Below are a few drawings I made of Sanders and the other members of his quartet during the performance. The 71 year old’s white beard and hair were a real design inspiration!
