Rockefeller Art Center

Rockefeller at SUNY Fredonia

Every summer I head over to Fredonia, NY to teach at the New York State Summer School of the Arts.  Its an amazing program that takes high school students from all over New York state to participate in an immersive 4 week art school.  This year though, an integral part of the program has left us, as our very own art-angel Judy Powers has retired.  She is responsible for keeping the program alive during these rough economic times when NYS has been slashing programs left and right.  This drawing was my contribution to a portfolio of work that was presented to Judy as a thank you- a sketch of Rockefeller Arts Center where the kids spend countless hours drawing, painting, cutting, carving, collaborating, sculpting, getting hot glue burns, … you get the idea.
