Little Longstone Chapel

We have friends who live out in a tiny village in Derbyshire, called Little Longstone, about half an hour’s drive from Sheffield. Their children are getting christened next month in this lovely old chapel, just up the hill from their house.

This morning, they asked if I would do a quick sketch of it for them, so they could put it on the Order of Service for the ceremony. Unfortunately it was blowing a gale, but I did my best, then rushed back for my reward: home-made waffles for breakfast!

This afternoon, playing around in the warmth and comfort of the studio, I did some splotting and sploshing with watercolour. It’s not watercolour paper unfortunately, but it still wakes it up:
