Short getaway to beautiful Ubud, Bali

Two weeks ago, I returned back to Ubud to find a piece of quiet. It is about 2.5hours by plane from Singapore and one of my favourite getaway. If you have read ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ by Elizabeth Gilbert, you will surely remember her last destination. She gave a fairly accurate desscription of Bali and why it is so captivating. This is indeed a place to eat, pray and love. People are warm and the place is simply magical. Here is a selection of my eating, sketching and relaxing during my 5 days in Ubud.
Pura Kloncing

One of the many small balinese temples scattered all over Ubud town.
Jalan Hanuman

This is part of the popular Jalan Hanuman street at Ubud town. I sketched this from my hotel restaurant which is just across the road. Lots of shops selling art and craft to passing tourists.
Down To Earth Cafe

I must not forget to mention all the wonderful indonesian food that I have been eating in Bali. The fried rice (Nasi Goreng) is extra yummy. This was the view from Down to Earth Vegetarian cafe. I was looking down at all the different roofs from the cafe and wanted to express the juxtaposition as layers of shapes overlapping each other.
