By Marion Rivolier in Paris, France.

Every year in Paris, there is a big international fair, the « FIAC » («Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain»), where we can discover modern and contemporay art. The FIAC takes place in the Grand Palais and in the Jardin des Tuileries near the Louvre.
In the Jardin des Tuileries, people going for a walk can admire many installations and sculptures : Ai Weiwei, the great chinese artist, has erected big animal heads in the ornamental lake : « Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads », 2010.
I enjoyed the contrast between these bronze heads – a little bit frightening – and people basking in the sun…

In this next watercolor, the sculpture by Chilean artists Smiljan Rajic and Marcela Correa (« le garçon caché dans un poisson », 2010), was well framed by the wonderful orange and red from the trees.

Near the Jardin des Tuileries, the FIAC also takes place inside the Grand Palais, a museum renowned for its galleries. It was very interesting to observe people looking at the works : the three men in resin made by Asta Gröting were like ghosts…

The sculptures from Monika Sosnowska are very aggressive but the movements of the black ribbon are also poetic !
Rendez-vous next year for a new FIAC in Paris !
