By Marion Rivolier in Paris, France.

At the end of the year, I wanted to feel some fresh air so I decided to visit Lille, a city in the north of France. I like this town because there is always something interesting to discover. In 2015, the city organised an incredible event : « Renaissance / Lille 3000 ». You can find a lot of events : exhibits, installations everywhere in the town, theatre, concert, performance, etc.
After one hour by train, I began my visit at the Tripostal near the railway station where there is the exhibit : « Séoul, vite, vite ! » (« Seoul, fast, fast! ») : the installation from the corean artist Choi Jeong Hwa I have painted above is made by recovered materials : yoghurt pots, plastic plugs, pearls, etc. They were reflected in mirror paper on the floor. Very funny to draw !

Lille is a city where you can walk peacefully. The second drawing shows the Gare Saint-Sauveur : it is an old train station renovated and converted into an events center. The sky was wonderfull and the light gave vibrance and resonance to the differents red and orange from the buildings ! The big black baby is a work by Tatiana Arzamasova from the group AES+ F : it is an hybrid between angel and demon…

At the end of the day, I took the train again at the Lille Europe station : it is a real forest of arches and complex structures by the architect Jean-Marie Duthilleul. The atmosphere is a little bit weird, cool and shady… But I like very much those kinds of places !
To conclude this post, I want to wish you an Happy New Year with colors and living paintings !
