This winter, we’ve had lots of snow in my northeast Iowa town. It’s been the perfect variety for rolling and compacting into snow sculptures. The temperature Monday afternoon was hovering just below freezing, warm enough to draw from my car, cold enough that my subjects weren’t melting. I cruised the neighborhood. I found these four within a few block radius from my house. They took me about an hour and a half to paint. It’s a good thing I didn’t delay my whimsical assignment until today—temperatures were above freezing. These guys are goners.
