Same Same but Different

Sunset at Lembu Road, Singapore[by Paul Wang, Singapore] The weather here in Singapore has been getting very unbearable. The temperature is climbing and the high humidity does not help too. So lately I have been experimenting with sketching at 4.30-5pm to escape the heat and it has worked well. I get about 2 hours of golden hour to work before the sun goes down. This is a panoramic sketch of the back side of some shophouses at Little India (Lembu Road). The messiness is quite captivating actually. The aircon units look like lego blocks all crudely plugged into the building wall.Back Alley at Lembu Road, Singapore

Yesterday, I went back again to the exact same spot but decided to paint and sketch more spontaneously. I dropped in some strong colours before scribbling the lines in. Switching techniques around for me is always good to get out of the routine and shake things up a little. A little messy but I had a good time playing with paint and lines!Lembu Road, Little India
