[Paulo Mendes in Porto] One
of my favorite events, the Porto Book Fair, takes place in September
in one of my favorite places, the gardens of Palácio de Cristal.
Across the Tílias avenue and along two weeks, dozens of pavillions
overflow with new and second hand literature for all tastes and ages.
A wide program of activities, from concerts do debates among many
others, accompany the event.
I
go there more than once, this one having been the first: To look for
interesting titles, delight myself with the wide offer, enjoy the
atmosphere, but also to make a sketch. The above one was started with
still few people and a chilly and overcast weather, and finished
under a blue sky and the bustle of the countless visitors meanwhile
arrived.

The
visit couldn’t be completed without a sketch from the gardens
themselves. That’s something I could make any other time of the year,
but how to resist to this pleasant late afternoon light?
