Siesta Key Observed–An Ongoing Project

[By James Richards on Siesta Key, Florida] The pandemic and corresponding restrictions on travel grounded our traveling workshops for a year (so far), and resulted in the cancellations in Provence, Tuscany, Santa Fe and more. On the flip side, it has afforded me a fantastic gift of time to get to know our home island of Siesta Key better through almost endless opportunities for exploring and sketching. It’s opened up layer on layer of familiarization and understanding of our home island, and has given locals and visitors a new lens through which to see and appreciate their surroundings. As the title says, the project is ongoing, and I’ve got no shortage of subject matter to document.
