Life in the park : Fixed point observation

[by Kumi Matsukawa from kanagawa, Japan]

On March 11th, I went to the park where I was sketching 10 years ago, when the biggest earthquake hit Japan (March 11th 2011.)

Unlike at that time, this day, it was quite warm and some cherry blossoms were already blooming. People seemed having calm nice normal afternoons although we are still having restricted life due to that virus thing. Compare to the most difficult times caused by that earthquake, Tsunami, and Nuclear Power Plant’s disaster, I feel thankful that we now have information, food, fuels, electricity, etc.

I have a kind of special attachment to this observation tower structure ever since I have drawm it. If I were a small kid, I would have loved it very much as it to be my fairyland in my imagination.

The first time I drew this was in 2007.

The second time was in 2011.
