One Night in Buruanga, Aklan

My wife and I had the opportunity to a co-teacher and her family on a trip to Buruanga, Aklan, a sleepy seaside town at the northwestern tip of Panay Island in the Philippines. We were joined by another co-teacher and her friend on a seven-hour drive from Iloilo City.

The duration was well worth it even if it meant spending a single night at a place I would like to call “The Boracay for Introverts.” Hinugtan Beach is a secluded wonder, with its white sand and tranquil environment you couldn’t possibly find in Boracay.

Of course, I had to take in the gorgeous panoramic views with my fountain pens and Holbein watercolor kit.

This was my second trip to Buruanga, but I never had the chance to sketch just as much on the first.

I’m sure this won’t be the last.
