Queen Calafia’s Magical Circle – Escondido, California

[Lydia Velarde in San Diego] The San Diego Urban sketchers met at the Queen Calafia Magical Circle yesterday. This is my sketch of two of the large mosaic snakes and the video showing the other artists work while sketching in the Magic Circle. We had a first time urban sketcher visiting from Paraguay! Queen Califia’s Magical Circle is the only American sculpture garden created by Niki de Saint Phalle (born in France). It is located in Kit Carson Park in Escondido.
