Simonetta Capecchi
International Symposium Sketch Correspondent
Having been part of 8 Symposia and an instructor herself, Simo would like to give back by offering her skills and experience. Her interest in sketch reportage goes a long way. She has worked on a diverse range of projects – lasting one day, a week or an entire year both in crowded festivals and carnivals, in the middle of nature or traveling on a sailing boat. Since 2015, Simo has had a monthly back-column on an Italian travel magazine, designed as a one page reportage.
Teoh Yi Chie aka Parka
Symposium Video Correspondent
A three-time USk Symposium video correspondent, Parka has given sketchers from around the world a front row seat to the Symposium through his video reports. He’s excited to go behind the camera once more, specially after the pandemic, to take viewers for another symposium adventure.
He started and manages Parka Blogs, a personal blog, which has evolved to feature more art products and artbooks related to animation, movie and comics. With a community of readers via his blog and viewers from his YouTube channel and Instagram page, he creates content with the aim of helping others make informed purchases. He also loves to share the experience and joy of sketching.
Tony McNeight
Local Symposium Sketch Correspondent
Tony will work with the team of correspondents to document the daily happenings at the Symposium. As a native Aucklander he is a proud and knowledgeable ambassador in the role. Tony is intimately acquainted with the physical areas that USK Symposium will be situated within.
Being an Auckland based travel sketch tutor he has been teaching travel sketching to Kiwis and taking sketch tours overseas. He is well practiced at sketching spontaneous situations and people on the move and looks forward to honing his skills further during the Symposium.
