Toulouse 2026: Iván’s view (Day 3) – Let’s stay inside

After 2 very sketchful days outside, and 2 very editful nights with only 3h sleep on each, on the third Symposium day, no no, I didn’t sleep in, despite my eyelids begging me to, this day I actually focused on something that is as essential to a Symposium, as the workshops and location.

The first Symposium day was about Education and the faculty members, on how they bring their expertise to the event. The second day we focused more on the participants and the workshops and demos for which they all traveled for so far. Therefore, it just felt natural to focus on my third Symposium day on another pillar of any Symposium and the Urban Sketchers organization as a whole, the Sponsors.

My mission of the day was: broadcast this gear heaven via several Instagram Live sessions, and sure enough, I had never done any before in my life! So much for adding pressure and bringing up the temperature. 

With the help of my trusty tripod and mics, there was only one solution, just go for it and try to have fun:

I’ll admit, staying inside and avoiding the +35C / +95F French heatwave, would have been quite a convincing reason too. But the real reason was managing my ASAS, aka, Art Supplies Acquisition Syndrome, and what better treatment (or perhaps, accelerant) than a tour of the famous Art Market and the Sponsors who make it all possible.
