Chinese New Year

For the beginning of Chinese New Year, I visited the beautiful Chinese Garden at Huntington Gardens, San Marino, California, not far from Los Angeles. It’s been a favorite place to sketch since it opened two years ago. The “Garden of Flowing Fragrance” meanders around a man-made lake, with stone bridges carved by Chinese craftsmen, large Tai Hu limestone rocks, and California oaks along side plants native to China. Chinese New Year and the beautiful weather really brought out the crowds–next week are the big festivities! These were done at various times–the last done on February 14th…
